On 27th July, Emily Crosby – one of the content creators at VerriBerri PR & Marketing Essex – attended Google’s Digital Garage on Tour in Saffron Walden.
Launched in 2015, the aim of the Google Digital Garage project was to enable anyone to learn the fundamentals of online marketing so they can take their business online and enjoy the benefits, regardless of their skills or background.
It is a fantastic opportunity for small businesses and digital marketing professionals to build their knowledge of marketing methods. From social media marketing to online advertising, seminars are delivered by Google trainers so attendees can learn more about how to grow businesses online from the experts themselves.
Here’s what Emily had to say about the experience:
“Before I arrived in Saffron Walden, I had no expectations about how the session might go but I was pleasantly surprised. I was welcomed by two lovely ladies who handed me a Digital Garage lanyard, which I was more than excited to receive – it’s the little things!
I made my way into the hall where the presentation was set up and ready. There was a selection of free coffee and ‘Google’ branded cupcakes, but with it being 30 degrees in the hall itself, I shunned away from the coffee. Instead, I bagged myself a seat near the front of the hall and awaited the start of our first presentation.
Despite having an understanding of the topics previously, the presentations helped me to refine my knowledge of digital marketing channels and how they can be applied to the clients we currently work with. For example, when it comes to social media marketing, there has been a rise in video content posted online over the last few years. With this knowledge, VerriBerri PR & Marketing Essex will implement video content in their future social media marketing strategies to maximise the exposure and engagement for our client’s social media channels.
It was also here that I found out some interesting statistics about mobile users. Did you know that 72% of Internet users purchase products from their phone? Also, 90% of people use Facebook via their phone.
When these statistics in mind, it just goes to show how important it is to have an online presence – as this is where your current audience is and where potential customers are waiting.
Overall, it was a fantastic day and I would recommend the Google Digital Garage to anyone looking to improve their knowledge of digital marketing.”
