Judging by the emails I receive and the questions I am asked, lots of customers are just starting to dip their toes into the waters of SEO.
There are some points I would like to impress on anyone reading this blog.
‘I want to rank well in Google.’ This is not a goal. The goal is not to be number one on the top page of Google, that is a stage on the journey; the goal is to gain more customers / clients who come to you from Google.
We can help you get up the Google rankings but you need good content when you get there. Incidentally we can help with this too. ‘Can you help me with SEO’ Yes. If you are short on time it is certainly going to be best for you if we do your SEO for you.
BUT if you are only asking us because you don’t know how and you have the time to do it yourself, I would suggest a training course. I can point you in the right direction of some great companies and some free websites. This will save you money and there is nothing like learning a new skill! Basic SEO is not that hard. You can learn the basics, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
SEO basics include a lot of things you can do relatively quickly and easily and begin to see some rewards. If you do decide to do your own SEO read about it every day, and with a critical eye. Spend at least 30 minutes a day reading SEO blogs and web sites to stay informed on current strategies and tactics. Don’t believe everything just because someone said so. When you can, test the strategies and tactics for yourself and see what works best in your situation.
DO NOT HIRE ANYONE WHO CONTACTS YOU FIRST FOR SEO. I cannot stress this strongly enough. SEO is very much in demand these days.
The best and most trusted companies don’t need to spam you with offers that are just too good to be true. Delete those emails right away. Should you need help with SEO, please get in contact with our friendly team by clicking here.
